BLEACHERS BREW EST. MAY 2006

Someone asked me how my blog and newspaper column came to be titled "Bleachers Brew". It's like this, it's an amalgam of sorts of two things: The bleachers area in the stadium/arena where I used to sit when I would watch baseball, football, and basketball games and Miles Davis' great jazz album Bitches Brew. That's how it got culled together. I originally planned on calling it "The View from the Big Chair" that is a nod to Tears For Fear's second album, Songs from the Big Chair. So there.

If you're an old school fan of English football then they've got dirt cheap books for sale here

If you are one of those old school fans of English football, you might want to visit the National Bookstore Superbranch in Cubao, Quezon City. They have lots of old stock books on English football stars of the yesteryear such as Kevin Keegan, Dennis Law, George Best, David Seaman as well as books on hooliganism, the infamous Pompey crew that loved to brawl, the Liverpool-Manchester United rivalry, David Beckham, the Rangers (if you are a fan of Scottish football), England in all their World Cup campaigns, and there's the bio of that codger Alex Ferguson and more. The cool thing is the cheapest stuff are P20 while the more pricey ones fetch for only Php350!
